Privacy Policy for Panquake Websites

Last Updated:

This is the Privacy Policy for the Panquake.com, Panquake.social, and Panquake.me websites (hereafter, “Websites”) administered by Talk Liberation ehf. (hereafter, “Talk Liberation”) with intellectual property owned by Talk Liberation CIC Limited. In this document, “we”, “our”, and “us” refers to Talk Liberation and its administration of the Websites.

For the privacy policy of TalkLiberation.com and its associated digital media properties, refer to https://talkliberation.com/privacy-policy.

This policy does not refer to the upcoming Panquake software product, and should in no way be construed to refer to that software product and the corresponding social network.

The Talk Liberation team upholds strict internal policies against unauthorized disclosure or use of personal information. We, at all times and wherever possible, seek to actively avoid the collection of personal information. Where no other alternative exists, we utilize some third party services who may have differing practices and standards. Further details are below. When you engage those third-party services you become subject to their privacy policy rather than ours.

We take privacy and security extremely seriously. Respecting your data sovereignty and the preservation of your digital self is important to us. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy or our use of data, please get in touch with us at privacy@talkliberation.com.

Website Traffic

Panquake.com does not utilize cookies or collect personally-identifiable information (PII). We gather high-level traffic statistics for our Websites that do not contain visitor identities using a local instance of GoAccess.

Panquake Early Access

Panquake Early Access codes are provided by Panquake.social. This website does not store any visitor information and instead generates a random phrase from the Electronic Frontier Foundation's diceware wordlists, a random token, and a timestamp. A client-side session token is generated to provide security for the system, such as limiting the number of visitor submissions, and it is never recorded by the server.

Panquake BETA Team of 5,000

Panquake BETA Team of 5,000 applications are submitted via Panquake.me. Panquake BETA users will have trusted roles in the upcoming Panquake network, and Talk Liberation needs to verify that they are genuine social media users. As such, the Panquake BETA Team of 5,000 website stores a handle or profile URL provided by the visitor for their current social network of choice. By asking visitors for this information, we avoid collecting personal data such as email addresses or phone numbers during the BETA selection process. A client-side session token is generated to provide security for the system, such as limiting the number of visitor submissions, and it is never recorded by the server.

Talk Liberation E-mail

Talk Liberation hosts its own e-mail system @talkliberation.com. Information volunteered to Talk Liberation via email may be retained at our discretion in readable form for as long as necessary to complete our responsibilities to you. The email itself may be retained in an archival form, but not for longer than is necessary or as required under applicable law (such as in the event of a legal dispute). At no time is the information of the email sender distributed or sold for any reason. We do not maintain a marketing database or mailing list. Email communications are engaged in one-to-one on an as-needed basis.

Third-Party Services

Some third party services do store information related to donations, subscriptions, or memberships on their servers. This information is shared by you with these third parties over a secure connection under legal agreement that governs its use and retention. These policies are not authored, influenced, or implemented by us. In particular:

We utilize Vimeo as a primary platform for storing and showcasing unique video content created by us. Please refer to the Vimeo privacy policy for more information about their collection and processing of data, including California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) compliance.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Policy at any time and without notice. However, we do elect to notify our community via our social media channels whenever this notice is modified.
